The treasuring time that i have created is a magnetic souvenir holder, the target market that i have chosen are teenagers who loves to travel the world.
When teenagers travel the world their brought home souvenirs such as, for eg, fridge magnet, pictures, postcard. Being a teenagers my self i would not put those souvenirs on a fridge, my product are produced to remind us of the time that we had during our travel, its shaped as half a globe to once again enforce the good time they had throughout their travel.

The magnetic board can be used to placed post card, pictures, fridge magnets, pins and etc, The materials that i have chosen to create this product are acrylic plastic for the globe, MDF for the backing of the magnetic boards and a magnetic sheets.

I have also specifically chosen the colour of the acrylic to be pale white to represent and remind us of time, to me during my travel time catch us to me, time goes by quickly and comes in a blur so the colour white is suppose to represent the blur and the quickness of time during our travel and remind us to enjoy our journey more.

Bad Design

My bad product that I have chosen to talk about is the power plug for my reading lamp(shown on the left).
The power plug is badly designed due to its unnecessary large size, the power plug conduct 240v, 50hz of electricity. With that amount of electricity the plug does not need to be overly large.

The power plug has a manufactured size of 8 cm height and 5 cm width, this provide the consumer with many major problems such as storing, aesthetic.

However the major problem of this design is not shown until it is in used in a common power plug. The common busy household usually has a double power point for ease of use, due to its size and placement of the metal conductor of the plug when placed on the left hand side of a double power point it will block and cover the right side of the power point and prevent usage.

Another problem that also occurs is when you place the plug on the right hand side of the power point the edge is large enough that it blocks the right side preventing it of used as well, as you can see with the picture on your left that which ever way you move the plug it will continuously cover both of the power point due to its bad design.

Suggested Improvement

I have designed a power plug that can help with this problem, i have reduced the size of the plug greatly from the original 5 x 8 cm to 3 x 5 cm for smaller and easier usage. I have also designed that the pin conductor to be able to be rotated so it is easier to use.
