Pegman is a uniquely design peg, design to solve the problem that occur with the current peg design. When i was researching pegs i discovered 3 main problems with the current peg design.

  • The current size of the average pegs were too small, it continuously to bring problem to people with big hands and fingers.
  • Also its small size means they are easily lost an must be continuously replaced days after days.
  • Materials, there are 3 common materials used to manufacture peg. ( Metal, they rust easily) (Wood, easily weathered and attract mold) (molded plastic, soft and easy to break)
To solve this problem Ive devised a design that solved all of the 3 major problems, ive made the design of pegman bigger so it is easier to held and won't be lost easily.
ive also looked at some materials and decided to use plastic and stainless steel to avoid any brittleness and breakage.

I like the idea of making a mundane task of hanging out the laundry more appealing to do, with this excited character. The bright, sunny, yellow colour, makes the surrounding environment more cheerful, and possibly improve the mood of the user.

The design could be improved if it was made easier to squeeze the mans arms together. Maybe if the arms were closer together. It could be overly costly to manufacture many of these due to its size, hence increasing the price of selling it. So, maybe make it smaller to save on manufacturing and material costs.

Flawless paint job!

i like the way how you have made it in organic design.
it seems a right size and suitable to be used in real life.
also with olor 'yellow' that you have chosen, i believe that makes the users feel cheerful too.
however i am just curious about whether it is enough squeezable ?!
overall comment is that you have made good job !

Peg Man ....its bright, its fun and makes a mundane task a little easier. I like how you have turned the peg form into a product that is still recognizable, and still used in the same way but with a fun twist to is predecessor. Also the use of new materials helps concur the usual hate people have for the original peg.

The colour is great for solving the losing problem, i know i definately wouldnt have lost the power adapter to my laptop this week if it was bright yellow!! Although it would definitely be cool in other colours too, as it would increase the novelty of the shape, but in saying that you could be onto something with the one colour, like blu-tac, wooden pegs and the simpsons! It could just be its signature look. In saying that i would have to say to review the design for manufacturing purposes. The one thing you would have to do is break people's buying habits to the wooden pegs, as they are ridiculously cheap to buy in bulk, and even plastic breaks down in the sun so the price of your wake-up-its-me peg would definetly be considered before purchase.
