For this Postal assignment I've created a make up box designed for the target market of young girls aged between 8-10, during this period of time girls will reach the period where there estrogen kicks in and is more fascinated and more involve in making them self look more attractive for the opposite sex, so I've decided to design this portable make up which can be transform into a bag so the girls can easily move room to room carrying their makeup while also playing.

Also I have considered that between those ages girls are likely to be more messy, this product is designed to reduced stress for the parents by providing a storage for their make up accessories.

The product is made out of one cut out sheet of Polypropylene plastic and is shaped by scoring the plastic, I've used a mushroom tag which i have designed to lock the bag into place and to hold a heavy amount of strain and weight needed for the everyday uses of young children. The bag can be easily constructed due to the numbering sticker that have been placed on the bag, the tags is numbered 1-8 and is to be matched with the slots in order to fully construct the bag.

i think your bag is very cool. your target market is interesting im not sure 8-10yr old girls are into makeup? but maybe they are. going through your photos i wondered if the construction aiding numbers would stay on (bad) or not (good) and i was happy to see that in your final picture i could not see any numbers. so would the little girl have to remove the numbers, im sure the little girl (or parent) could remove the numbers with a bit of nail polish but the must be a better way. i had a similar problem designing my screwdriver- how to have numbers visible, so that the construction was easy, and then not wanting any numbers showing after the product was assembled ( becasue they serve no purpose once constructed) iam not sure what the answer for your is, perhaps you number them in a way that all of the numbers are on the inside of the bag? not sure.
i think it looks simple to construct, fun and useable. good job

Hi Ron, I personally really like your make up pouch.(can you make one for me? kidding hehe.) before I read your explanation. I thought you was targeting for women like me, but you actually design this for young girls. As Derek mentioned before, your target market is quit interesting. young girls want to be lady like their mom. they all imitate what mothers do. that's why this make up box is quit suitable for young girls. The only two things I would suggest to imroving your design are materials and colour.I do not think Plastic(PP)is not suitable for little girls. It will be nicer if you make this by using soft material. Moreover, I do not think little girls like green for their make up bag. Except these two, you did really good job! well done heheh
